Just to underpin the seriousness invoked by Toyota towards the stylish design of the 2016 Toyota Prius, the company delayed its release date just to overhaul its original appearance. Than their predecessors, Toyota has increasingly aligned itself in making cars that have better driving dynamics and classier exteriors.
The Japanese Auto maker has yet again proven not to be disappointing with the Toyota Prius model which has received a major boost which will leave both the haters and hard-core fans amazed.
Mr. Akio Toyoda, the company’s CEO may have made such an initiative his own since he has been in office for the same period of time. Conversely, it might have been a change of tradition towards emerging market trends with modern cars aligning themselves towards a sporty appearance.
When we now take a look at the engine of the 2016 Toyota Prius, it is expected to come with a 4-cyl 2L engine a single one just as is the case in other models. The electric motor under the hood is powerful to a large extent but relatively smaller in size.
It comes equipped with a lithium ion battery which is lighter and much better for long range since it has already been tested with other current models. Additionally, our independent mule has informed us that the motors and the rear wheels of the Prius are electronically controlled.
In terms of fuel efficiency expect a 10% better utilization since it will use 55mpg.
2016 Toyota Prius interior
Photos of the 2016 Toyota Prius show an absolutely refurbished interior for the instrument panel. The steering wheel has a three spoke new design and behind it is an array of analogue gauges.
Due to scanty information released to the public by Toyota, it is however revealed that the car will have more cabin space and a comfortable interior. This was long expected and Toyota has not disappointed.
2016 Toyota Prius exterior
The 2016 Toyota Prius has a similar design to the Diamond Architecture of the CH-R due to its 5 door hatchback layout. The wheelarches are insistent while the roofline is sharply coned. For comparison purposes between the plug-in hybrid and the standard Prius hybrid is that the plug-in will retain its staid look while the hybrid will be much sportier.
The hybrid will be lighter thanks to the aluminium made body parts while the plug-in will be even way much lighter since some parts will be made of plastic. The new fuel cell design of the 2016 Mirai hydrogen fuel cell will not in either way influence neither the plug-in nor the hybrid.
Price and release date
A rescheduling of the 2016 Toyota Prius release date was made since it was expected this coming spring. The price per unit will be in the range of %110,000-$115,000 depending on the choice of the customer.
