2016 Chevrolet Trax

Nissan Maxima rear view black color tailpipe

If you value practicality over power and style, the 2016 Chevrolet Trax is the vehicle for you. With a useful hatchback shape and some nifty fuel economy specs, the car is a very useful vehicle for city drivers and from getting through a tough jam on the road. It is a perfect vehicle for city dwellers and poses a very nice package for any person who wants to take it out for a drive.

The Chevrolet Trax is a vehicle that belongs to a new breed of crossover vehicles that have started to emerge all over. It is a vehicle for a contemporary person and style wise goes with the same sort of look. Comparing it with its sibling, the Equinox vehicle, this one comes with a larger level of different amenities and for a lower price at that. It is also hosts least-expensive all-wheel drive on the market.

Honestly speaking, the Chevrolet Trax is a less fancy version of the Encore car from Buick. This is because of the fact that both cars are built on the Chevrolet Sonic architecture and it took a while for the car to come to the US market because of this. The thing is that the crash test ratings were not satisfactory and that the car needed some time in order to get to the market when the numbers were fixed. With the enhanced safety features and a bunch of all new stuff the 2016 Chevrolet Trax lands at our doors and we are excited to have it and welcome it. Read the rest of the review to find out why.

2016 Chevrolet Trax exterior

As we mentioned, the 2016 Chevrolet Trax shares the underpinnings form the Chevrolet Sonic car and is basically a less expensive Buick Encore car. But there is a lot more going for the Trax that you did not know nor expected. Chevy has decided to add some truck characteristics to its car, of course this is only style wise speaking, and it goes well for the overall look. The car has two-box small hatchback body and is taller looking as well. The greatest difference with the Encore is that it does not uses the swoopy liens that this car has but actually incorporates a bit of a square look. It makes the exterior bland enough that it does make the look generic enough to be as inoffensive as possible.

Perhaps a small throwback is the fact that the base SL version rides on the wheels that made of steel and have silver plastic wheel covers. The base level displays its inexpensive nature with black door-mirror pedestals and the missing chrome beltline strip. The roof line is the same for all trim levels of the car and shows the budget nature of the car that Chevy is going for this year. The higher trim levels get some better wheels though, as you can get some 16-inch alloy wheels one in the LT trim and 18-inch allow on the LTZ level.

Inside the Trax, it has managed to adopt the Chevy’s twin cockpit interior combination in a great way so as it has a more practical use, utilitarian look and overall a much upright configuration. The instrument cluster is the same as seen in the Chevy Sonic, as it uses tachometer paired with a 3.5-inch monochrome display screen which has a numeric speedometer with various other bar gauges and warning lights.

This is not the only thing that characterizes the new Trax as it comes with a black-cloth upholstery that are made with some light oblong shapes on it. Combined with the contrasting blue stitching gives a nice touch to the inside of the car and enhances the atmosphere of the inside to a whole different level. The higher level can come with an added look changes so the LTZ for instances uses two-tone vinyl upholstery with some patterned trim over parts of the console to relieve the black interior that is present in all of the interiors of the Trax. This makes the 2016 Chevrolet Trax much more practical and both the combinations of the inside and out bring to a completely stylish car.

Under the hood of the new 2016 Chevy Trax you will find an engine which is present in all of the trim levels of the car. It uses the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. The engine can make a peak torque output from just 1,850 rpm. It also combines with a six-speed automatic transmission system that has a wide range of gear ratios which accounts for a relatively quick acceleration of the car. The Fuel economy specs are perhaps the best one in the class as the car can make 9 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive version, or 27 mpg with the all-wheel drive. All in all, a suitable engine setup for the car that provides you with just what you ask from it.

Price and released date

The Chevrolet Trax is going to be available from next year and it is going to receive a release date come January. It will be offered for the first time at the US and Canadian market so we are presuming that the car is going to receive higher sales than last year and that the popularity of it will rise because of its inclusion to some new markets. This may also be achieved as the car has a very low price range, as it comes available at a base MSRP of just 20,300 USD.

And unlike before, it is sportier than the Ghost sedan upon which it’s based. Other strengths include an illustrious Rolls-Royce badge, silent and lush cabin, a swift acceleration, and a better handling. The Rolls-Royce Wraith release date should be expected sometime in the second half of 2021.

While Rolls-Royce has a long history of building driver-centric two-door coupes as well, its nameplate has long been associated with ultra-luxury sedans that are expressly designed to be chauffeured at owner’s direct specification. In its portfolio are two driver-centric coupes: the Phantom Wraith and the Coupe.

Relative to the coupe, the Phantom Wraith is more powerful and makes about 624 hp and 590 lbs. ft. of torque thanks to its turbocharged V12 engine. The 2021 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe 0-60 mph is rated at just 5.6 seconds, and 4.7 seconds for the Wraith. The Wraith also features such as GPS capability that enables it pull prevailing road conditions data and select the optimal gear.

2016 Toyota Tacoma

The redesigned Toyota Tacoma for 2016 boasts an updated interior, a new V6 engine, and a capable off-road performance. It’s recommended for anyone shopping in the midsize truck segment. Some of its strengths include a peerless resale value, an extensive list of options, an excellent off-road ability, a responsive touchscreen interface, and a refined V6 engine. Its release date should be expected this July.

For more than two decades now, the Toyota Tacoma has continued to be a competitive pickup truck that has provided its buyers an alternative to the often-perceived large and costly full-size regular trucks. If you’ve been a seasoned user of the previous versions of the Tacoma, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma won’t offer any major surprises apart from the usual refreshments.

Traditional users may find the new notable improvements made on the 2016 model to have, to some extent, burnished its appeal. The new model doesn’t come with the dinky steel wheels found on the regular cab 4×2 stripper. You only have to choose between the crew cab and the extended cab body styles.

What hasn’t changed though, is Tacoma’s off-road performance repertoire. It also gets the Crawl Control system that it borrowed from the Land Cruiser and the 4Runner. One interesting add-on that the new vehicle comes with is the GoPro mount that gives users the capability of recording their driving experiences.

Things get even better under the hood. With a revised 4.0L V6 engine that offers 42 more horsepower than the previous model, the new Tacoma promises a memorable driving adventure. The base engine returns as before and carries over its power output unchanged.

In overall, we’d say the new 2016 Toyota Tacoma is well-positioned to retain its throne among other midsize pickup trucks. That said, you should still look around the segment to see what the segment offers in terms of alternatives. Some of them include the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, the 2016 GMC Canyon, and the 2016 Nissan Frontier.

Available Trims – Toyota Tacoma

Expect to see the new Toyota Tacoma for 2016 in a whopping five trims: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, Limited, and TRD Off Road.

On the other hand, the V6 returns 19/24/21 mpg with the 4x2s and 17/20/18 mpg for the four-wheel-drive system.

During our own test drive, the V6 with an automatic sprinted to 60 mph from naught in 8.5 seconds.

2016 Nissan Leaf

The currently second generation Nissan Leaf has been given an update. The new 2016 Nissan Leaf is a vehicle that will assume the role of the current vehicle which is announced to be carried over without any particular changes visually. Since 2010 the Leaf vehicle is screaming for an overhaul and as we expect the release of the third generation we will have to make due with the 2016 Nissan Leaf model which in a way manages to satisfy us until the real thing arrives.

As of June 2015, the Nissan Leaf is officially the top selling highway capable electric cars, with over 180,000 units sold worldwide. This vehicle managed to make its run for the title with the models that were released in 2013 and 2014 and without breaking a sweat managed to beat the competition, with the closest ones being the Chevrolet Volt and the Tesla Model S cars.

With the latest update we will receive some changes to the drivetrain which will make the already driving specs of the vehicle better and also something added on the inside as the interior gets a tad remodeled. But the exterior is what bugs us the most as it carries over without any changes from the previous model. We hope that Nissan is hiding its cards for the future generation model and that it manages to play them soon. Read the review to learn about the specs and the update of the new Leaf.

2016 Nissan Leaf exterior

What has been a major disappointment with the new 2016 Nissan Leaf model is tied with its exterior. There are going to be absolutely no changes. The exterior look has been completely copy/pasted from the previous model to the 2016 one. Usually it takes about four years until Nissan decides to give a visual update to their cars and it was the case with all the previous Nissan cars, we are still waiting for the Leaf to receive something new. The only thing that was added were actually a few new color choices. The car now gets the use of Forged Bronze, Coulis Red and Deep Blue Pearl that you can pick from. Everything else is virtually identical.

As they have done such a lazy job with the outside of the car, the inside has a lot more to it. The 2016 Nissan Leaf has had some work done when it comes to convenience inside the car and also with the added technology. What is particularly interesting is the updated entertainment system which all Nissan trims receive. It is much more user friendly and generally better than before. On the entry level Leaf S vehicle you get a  five-inch color display with Bluetooth connectivity option and some other treats like hands-free text messaging, audio streaming and a  Nissan Connect feature with mobile apps for various social network connections.

The higher trims, the SV and the SL, come with everything that you can find inside the S trim already, but also pack some new features that you can use as well. The higher trims do make a difference in this case as the added features are very appropriately added and used. A seven-inch display that supports multi-touch is added here with also the updated navigation system, voice recognition, SiriusXM satellite radio and various other useful apps as well. The display on the graphic interface is also something new and it updates itself on every 12 miles of movement.

Under the hood are the most significant changes which the vehicle has received. The 2016 Nissan Leaf has an enhanced driving range now which is done by adding a stronger battery pack. The power boost is changed from 24 kWh to 30 kWh and gives the Leaf a total range of 107 miles on a single charge. So the good news is that you will be able to travel 23 miles more with the newest update, the bad news is that you only get it on higher SV and SL trims while the base S one still holds the current characteristics.

With the updated battery pack, the Leaf also gets some more weight under its belt, making it a bit less efficient that way. The base S trim still holds the same EPA rating of 126 city, 101 highway, and 114 combined mpg. The higher trims change to 124 city, 101 highway, and 112 combined mpg. With the changes to the battery being the only thing that was substituted inside the car, the 80-kW AC synchronous engine remains the same and it is still able to produce 107 horsepower and 187 pound-feet of torque as before.

2016 Nissan Leaf Price and release date

For now the price of the base 2016 Nissan Leaf S remains the same as before at $29,010 base MSRP as there were almost no changes to it. The higher SV trim is priced at $34,200 while the SL trim has the highest price tag of $36,790 base MSRP. The newest Nissan Leaf is going to be released at the beginning of 2016, maybe as early as January.
