2018 BMW X3 Exterior Redesign
Based on the current information, the exterior of the 2018 BMW X3 is going to be a refinement rather than a fine tune of the current model. The car is going to expand its looks and still keep a straight face or rather a standard and recognizable BMW design. The front end is going to retain the familiar BMW kidney grill which the car has had all along. It is just going to be a bit larger and is going to be paired with some redesigned and slimmer headlights. There is also an LED strip at the corers of the lights.
The sides of the car have been tampered a bit. It is going to feature a curving down line instead of an upper body line. It is supposed to be much more defined and sharper looking compared to the current model. As for the rear part of the car we see the least amount of changes made. The car is retaining a similar look with some refinements made. These include a toned down hatch and a small protruding from the bottom of the bottom rear window of the car.
2018 BMW X3 Interior Updates and Additions
Surprisingly enough, but there are pictures released about the 2018 BMW X3 interior already. Much of it was still covered but a lot of it was visible and gave us a notice how this one was going to differ compared to the previous model.
The obvious difference is the new steering wheel the car has received and it goes along with a bottom spoke. There are silver buttons and silver inserts placed over the bottom spoke of the car. The instrument cluster is going to be redesigned as well and what is the most visible part is that the car gets a digital instrument cluster with a digital speedometer.
The majority of the center cluster has remained the same but the shifter handle looks more refined and has some chrome overlays on the side. There is a gray trim insert placed on the side and the cup holders around the shifter have been pushed back a bit. Above the cup holders there is enough room for the HVAC and infotainment system, while the overall center stack has been updated.
Depending on which market the 2018 BMW X3 papers on, there is going to be a range of both gasoline and diesel engines offered. Besides this a plug-in hybrid powertrain is also announced as well. The current car has a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-banger that makes 240 horsepower, a turbocharged 3.0-liter that makes 300 horsepower and a a turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel with an output of 180 horsepower. They are probably going to keep all of these engine s and the only change may perhaps be a power upgrade for some of the engines. They are still going to use an 8-speed or a 9-speed shifter, depending on the trim.
2018 BMW X3 0-60 mph Acceleration Ratio
The acceleration of the 2018 BMW X3 is going to be expanded. The top speed of 130 mph might remain the same.
2018 BMW X3 Fuel Economy Specifications
As far as fuel economy is concerned, the 2018 BMW X3 will perhaps keep the same kind of specs. The car is already very good at fuel efficiency and there have been no changes mentioned for the fuel economy modifications. Thus the 2.0-liter engine will remain at 21/25/24 mpg for its EPA ratings while the 3.0-liter one will most likely retain its 19/26/21 mpg consumption.
Dimensions for the 2018 BMW X3

The BMW X3 is a stylish and very roomy crossover car with a lot of versatility and the interior spacing is already good enough with a larger trunk, enough to make you feel comfortable and pack you for a trip anywhere you need to go.
Although the data on safety for the 2018 BMW X3 still has to be crunched and the official ratings will come out as soon as the car is out, we believe according to the reports that they are going to make this car as safe as humanly possible. The past rates gave ten current X3 a 5 star rating overall and a 4 star rating for rollover safety, which are the standard ratings for any top SUV car. The IIHS gave it a top “Good” score and we do expect those ratings to come back for th future car with some added safety features which are going to expand the cars rates even further.
