The 2019 Subaru Forester is the automaker’s compact offering that slots just below the Outback. The Forester is one of the brand’s best sellers and this is due to the Forester’s unwavering desire to offer value to its users. Why would anyone want to own a Forester? As previously mentioned above, the 2019 Subaru Forester isn’t an automotive angel and still comes with its fair share of shortcomings. Well, according to official data from Subaru this is what you should expect to be set back when you head to the dealerships to get your own Forester. The basic Forester which is a 2.5i Premium model should set you back by $27K, the well-equipped 2.0XT Premium model should set you back by $31K while the fully-loaded Forester 2.0XT Touring should set you back by $37,806.

For the returning Subaru buyer, the only difference in pricing is a slight increase of around $240. Based on production forecasts, the newest model should begin arriving in July/August 2017. The Outback and the Legacy should closely follow later.

Design Changes on Both The Exterior & Interior


The 2019 Subaru Forester will be available in seven trim models. Only six were available last year but Subaru has now added the Black trim. The lineup will now consist of the 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, Black Edition, 2.5i Touring, 2.5i Limited, 2.0XT Touring, and the 2.0XT Premium.

As already mentioned, the 2019 Subaru Forester returns almost unchanged for the new model year. But Subaru was still kind enough to allow for some few tweaks inside and out except for under the hood. The new Black Edition trim model comes with a unique interior with black cloths seats and a black gloss trim, and 18-inch black alloy wheels.

Returning trim models return with changes such as a premium-look LED technology, upgraded interior materials, and a refreshed hood. Like before, all models return with the popular Eyesight technology that features reverse automatic braking and automatic high beams. Subaru is yet to mention whether or not the new model will come with new color options.

Under the hood, the new 2019 Subaru Forester returns with the same engines as before. The lighter version which is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine is rated at 170 horsepower. Also available is a 2.0L turbocharged engine able to generate a whopping 250 horsepower.

Fuel economy ratings for a four-cylinder turbo with a CVT is estimated at 28 mpg for combined city/highway cruising.
