2019 Subaru Outback

2019 Subaru Outback review

The 2019 Subaru Outback has received some updates for this year. The Outback is essentially a Legacy with a bigger rear end, and as the Legacy has already received an update, they are doing the same for the Outback and transferring most of the same updates to this car as well. The models look similar as the Outback has received some reworking on the outside and the Legacy has concentrated on making the interior a better place. Of course the Outback does not feature the coupe like styling due to its wagon exterior which is an expected choice.

The plastic cladding and the body-protective features that you would normally see in an Outback are still kept here and are going to be used this time as well and can be a good choice for when you decide to take the car for a ride out back.

The similarities between the Subaru Outback and the Subaru Legacy continue under the hood. The same type of an engine setup is going to be seen inside this car and it will do it a lot of good for the Outback to get this kind of an upgrade. Added is the CVT transmission and they do not plan to offer us a manual transmission choice any time soon. The prices and the release date for the latest Subaru Outback has been confirmed and you can read all about it in this review along with other specs and news about the car.

2019 Subaru Outback Exterior

The exterior design of the latest 2019 Subaru Outback is going to combine the classic wagon shape and a modern crossover design together into one. The car is still going to have a high ground clearance and a tall greenhouse which is going to give it a more of an SUV-like look. It is going to borrow certain elements from the Legacy but they are not going to become too dominant for the Outback. The front end is graced with a six-sided grille and also the large fascia part make the car look much larger than it actually is and the same goes for the side profile of the car which is pretty much owed to the plastic cladding the vehicle has.

The Outback Touring trim is going to features some added features and small changes for its 2019 version. This means a dark grey grille with matching gray wheels also finished with bright, machined faces. The car is going to have low-profile roof rails making the visual height of the car that much larger. The range topping level of the car is going to be enhanced thanks to the chrome bits and pieces that are added as well which you can see on the door bottoms, roof rails and the front bumper.

Interior Changes 2019 Subaru Outback

The interior of the 2019 Subaru Outback is mainly borrowed from the interior of the Legacy model, but this is actually not at all a bad thing as the Legacy sports a very good and handsome looking inside. There are going to be optional wood and metal trims available as well as a possibility of adding navigation for your use and also leather seats as well.

The Touring trim is actually the only version which is available with the newly added color, called Java Brown and you can add it to the perforated leather seats, armrests or door panels. The ivory stitching is a perfect way to contrast the color and teh dark look while it also comes with woodgrain accents and a piano-black trim for the switch panels. A standard feature is a headed steering wheel.

The seating setup is going to be the same for the 2019 version and it will still be able to seat five people and offer ample space for all of them using two rows of seats. The second row has a folds 60/40 style which actually allows more cargo room in the rear. The Outback has a very competitive cargo bay with enough room to compete even with some of the midsize models.

Engine of 2019 Subaru Outback

There are going to be two engine choices offered under the hood of the 2019 Subaru Outback. The engine variants are the same ones seen under the hood of the Legacy model and fit in the setup that we have here perfectly. The first choice is a 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine that has 175 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 174 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm at disposal.

The second engine is offered for the 3.6R Limited trim and is the 3.6-liter flat six-cylinder that makes 256 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 247 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. The CVT the only transmission available as there is no manual version this time as well but the car does use a Symmetrical AWD system as standard.

The newest 2019 Subaru Outback is going to be available for sale pretty soon. The vehicle’s release date is set for the later part of this year and will already appear before the 2019 season.
