2021 Audi Q5 Release Date, Price and Redesign

2021 Audi Q5 review

The new 2021 Audi Q5 is going to be a vehicle that will be marked as the segment’s most modern offering. The model will certainly be praised for being able to deliver perhaps the highest level of both comfort and on-board technology, but it will also be able to boast with some exceptional performance and conservative styling which goes well with this car.

The 2021 Audi Q5 version is an all-new vehicle for the segment and will probably face a sturdy set of competing cars. The segment is already filled with brands coming from Mercedes and BMW as well so it was necessary to update this car in the manner it has been so it manages to perform as we expect it to.

The Audi Q5 will arrive in various trims available as well. If you want a more performance-minded model you can get the SQ5 version which is a more powerful and potent option for the buyers. Also available are the Premium, Premium Plus, and Platinum trim levels, which all have a different setup and offer a higher level of customization and better equipment as the trims go higher.

All in all, we are looking at a very interesting offer and our review will confirm it. You do not have to look at the pictures until the release date as you have all the information you need right here.

2021 Audi Q5 Release Date

Expect to see the 2021 Audi Q5 on sale by the end of this year. The model will be prepared ahead of time and although it is labeled as a 2021 model it will be released by the end of 2020, although it may take him to arrive a little bit longer in America so it will probably be offered by the start of 2021.

What is the Price of the 2021 Audi Q5?

The newest 2021 Audi Q5 will start its sales for a notable price which will make it competitive with other models. It will cost similarly as before but will receive a slight boost in the price range. So the base MSRP is given at 41,500 dollars.

What are the Exterior Updates?

The exterior design will not drastically change for the 2021 Audi Q5 and the model will follow the cues established in the previous model.  The outside follows the sinewy design language seen in Audi vehicles. It will combine a shapely belt-line and a nose which is longer than the one seen on the previous models. But the differences are mostly seen in the subtle details that the car hosts. Added are also the standard HID and optional LED headlamps and in the middle, you will find Audi’s shield grille. The rear end seems as if it was carried over from the previous model but the new LED lighting makes a whole lot of difference.

Inside Appearance

There are some bigger changes awaiting us on the inside of the 2021 Audi Q5 model. It follows the automaker’s latest interior design language and makes good work for the inside of the Q5 car. The added central display screen cannot be retracted when you are not using it so it can be troublesome and it does look like a big tablet placed on top of the dash. But everything else seems pretty good with soothing and logical arraignment which will also transfer for a great use for the driver. The switches are all neatly placed in a single panel below the climate controls but all the infotainment controls can be accessed using a big touchpad, also offered here.

Powertrain Offer

A new car also deserves a new powertrain and the 2021 Audi Q5 will add an option that will complement its new platform and stiffer suspension. The base engine for the Q5 is the 2.0-liter inline turbo 4-cylinder which makes 258 hp and 273 pound-feet of torque, an improvement of 38 hp and 15 pound-feet over the current version. It will also come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and standard all-wheel drive.

0-60 mph

We still do not have the exact reports and specs for the 2021 Audi Q5 but we know that they will improve compared to the outgoing model. The acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is going to be achieved in 6.0 or 6.4 seconds, which is a great update for the car. When it comes to top speed we are looking at a performance of 130 mph.

Fuel Economy and Specifications

Fuel economy is not yet officially available for the 2021 Audi. In fact, the car will get its rates soon enough and make them public. So far we can only assume based on the predictions that the new engine is capable of making. These amount to 20 mpg city, 27 highway, 22 combined. But we actually might get an improvement as these stats coincide with the ones from the outgoing one and there is still time to improve the Q5 and make it slightly better than the competition.

Dimensions

The size of the 2021 Audi Q5 was not planned to change. They are keeping this part of the car the same and are keeping any sort of dimension changes for the next-generation model. It will more likely be kept this way for a period of time until they decide to give it a more copious redesign. Thus the size remains at, length 183.5 in, wheelbase 111.0 in, height 65.4 in, width 74.4 in.

Safety Settings

Although the 2021 Audi Q5 has not been crash-tested so far, it does have a slew of safety features that are going to make the car much safer to drive than before. It will come with some very interesting safety features, airbags and stability control, which are standard ones, but also a system that begins closing windows and the optional moonroof. Some bigger options will add adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, rear automatic braking, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Rivals

As mentioned, the 2021 Audi Q5 will be welcomed by some very tough competitors in the segment. It will not be easy for the new Audi car to make it among the sea of other more established cars. These will include the BMW X3, the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class and Jaguar F-Pace, but also the newly established Alfa Romeo Stelvio as well.
