2021 BMW M3 Release Date and Price Rumors

2021 BMW M3 review

The new 2021 BMW M3 model has a big legacy behind it that it has to live up to. The M3 has always been one of the more popular brands coming from BMW. The track-ready sports car has been one of their popular releases and has been seen on the cover of magazines and various posters spread out on walls everywhere. This legacy has been hard to achieve and the car managed to get it during its stints over the period during the 80s and the 90s.

The 2021 M3 version is now back and it hosts some changes which are not going to tarnish the original offer that the BMW M3 car made. They do not stray far from the original design and performance of the vehicle and they do manage to keep it as close to the original offer as they can. Something that is quite new for this version is the announced Competition Package which will update the power output to 444 horsepower, astounding numbers for the car.

The released photos have shown us a near production ready vehicle and the car will come out earlier than its originally intended release date. We are more than ready for the release and hope that it might satisfy our urges when it comes to the legendary M3 model.

When can we expect the Release Date for the 2021 BMW M3?

The 2021 BMW M3 is expected to drop somewhere in 2017. The release date has not been officially confirmed but it was said that although this car is labeled as a 2021 release, fans are going to see it a little bit earlier. This means that the car might become available just a few months before we enter the 2021 model year.

Price Speculations

As far as the price of the 2021 BMW M3 goes, it is not going to be cheap. Expect the price to rise a bit from the current one and it will go beyond the 64,000 dollars you are paying for the current version of the M3 car.

Exterior Styling

The styling cues for the 2021 BMW M3 are going to be a bit updated. But they are not turning this car into a completely different one so they are sticking with what they currently have. This means that some aesthetic enhancements are made but most of it is aimed to enhance the performance of the car. Advanced aerodynamics are used so the car can perform better and faster and swish through air much more efficiently. The aerodynamic treatment features a Gurney lip spoiler at the rear and gills up front. Even the mirrors are sculptured for maximum efficiency. The Competition Package is an option and an exterior orientated enhancement of the car which provides you with overall lightweight materials for the majority of the outside and also 20-inch wheels.

Interior Update

2021 BMW M3 interior

The inside of the 2021 BMW M3 has not been discussed so much. But expect it to receive a similar sort of a treatment as the exterior did. In order to maximize the car for performance, the inside has a lot of carbon fiber and aluminum trims. It will also address the comfort issues and will provide better and soft touch materials around the cabin. The bolstered seats will be placed in the front which will provide more support and control for the driver.

The layout is familiar as it resembles the previous one. There are no major shifting which would be confusing to some and they only provide some nips and tucks here and there. The major thing about the inside is also the new offer of color choices which allow you with customization of the inside. Also some expanded features are present with eh Executive Package that are mainly orientated for the inside of the car.

Powertrain Ability and Options

The power of the 2021 BMW M3 is going to be generated using a combination of some throwback and heritage elements and also some contemporary and future ones. Namely we get a 3.0-liter inline-6 engine under the hood, which is also dubbed the S55. The standard output is 425 horsepower and 408 pound-feet of torque, but as mentioned, the Performance Package can provide an added boost and the car will be able to jump to an astounding 444 hp using it. As for the transmission choices, you can choose between a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) or a 6-speed manual.

0-60 mph Performance and Top Speed

With the base engine setup, the 2021 BMW M3 is able to spring to 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, while the Performance Package enables it to go even beyond that. The top speed is still kept at around 163 mph.

Fuel Ratings and Economy

We cannot really say that the 2021 BMW M3 is going to be a fuel efficient car. The performance orientated model is not your type car where you can hope to save fuel because it is entirely impossible to do that. The EPA rates for the this model are estimated at 17 mpg city, 26 highway, 20 combined, when using the 6-speed manual, or 17/24/19 mpg with the 7-speed automatic. Not something that you can boast with but it is an expected kind of a performance from this type of a model.

Dimensions and Comfort

There is no word on dimension changes for the 2021 BMW M3, but a more spectacular thing regarding the body of the car is that it is going to lose a lot of weight. In order to make this as best performance orientated vehicle as they could they decided to shed a lot of weight. The car uses a lot of carbon fiber pieces and aluminum materials, which prompts it to lose 176 pounds, amounting to a total of 3,540 pounds for its overall weight. The model can get even lighter when using the Competition package which reduces the weight even further. But the dimensions will probably stay the same, no words on it probably means that the car is going to keep the same shape as it offered before.

Safety Rates

The car will come with the usual set of safety features, but unfortunately the 2021 BMW M3 will offer a lot of advanced pieces of equipment only through the offered packages. So we might say that the base offer of safety equipment is a little bit lack-lustered for the base version of the car, with the good stuff only offered at a higher price. Therefore the rearview camera only comes with the Executive Package and the advanced safety pieces will be given through the Assistance Plus package. The advanced options include blind-spot monitors, a surround-view camera system, and active driving assistant.

What are the Rivals?

In terms of performance and style, there are a few cars which are able to rival the 2021 BMW M3. The most obvious choices are the Audi S4, Cadillac ATS-V Sedan and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
