2021 Honda Accord Release Date, Price and Changes

2021 Honda Accord review

Honda is trying to boost its seals with a new 2021 Honda Accord. The redesigned models have been announced and they are already working on preparing the model to the market as soon as possible. In fact, before the confirmation and the announcement that a new Accord is underway, there were a lot of camouflaged cars doing rounds spotted and a lot of spy pictures have been made.

The newest car is supposed to get a complete redesign, both inside and out, and there is a new platform being mentioned as well. This is going to make the Accord a better car as they plan to make a sleeker design for the future in order to update it accordingly. Besides a sportier look on the outside, there are many upgrades prepared for the interior of the car as well.

The Honda Accord brand is already an established one in the market and has been present since 1976. The larger acclaim came with the brand was introduced to the US market in 1989. The car was then introduced to a worldwide audience and it came into many forms, coupe, hatchback, wagon, and even crossover.

The 2021 version of the Honda which appears is going to come available in its standard set of trims so with the base LX model we can expect the Sport, SE, EX, EX-L and Touring models to make a comeback for the 2021 version. The review will tell you all that you need to know so you prepare for the release.

Update: The last time when we reported about the 2021 Honda Accord model, the camo was still fresh on it. Now the banners are off and we can clearly see what we have in front of us. To be honest, a lot of the leaks were actually correct so we only have a few updates for you which will help take care of certain misunderstandings about the model. The fact still remains that this is going to be the 10th generation model of the famous Accord brand. Interestingly, but the previous generation was only out of 4 years. The designers decided to cut things short and put out a new model that will resolve all the shortcomings which the previous model had.

When we talk about the shortcomings, we do mean that the previous car had a lot about it that needed to be changed. Fortunately, the 2021 Honda Accord has fixed all of that. We are talking about a completely redesigned interior and a slimmed-down body. The chassis has also been reshaped but the most important part is under the hood where the engine and the transmission have been replaced. Also take into consideration the ultra-high-strength steel which the body is made from, which guarantees better safety.

With the recent updates that have been made, we present them here for you with our first review.

When is the Release Date of the 2021 Honda Accord?

According to the latest news, the 2021 Honda Accord is going to be offered by the start of 2021. The early spy photos which were introduced did not show us a lot but it is the recent ones that actually depict a closer picture of the Accord car. In face judging, by the design that we see now and the production level, the car is going to get a release date by the beginning of 2021.

Update: It has been confirmed and a more accurate release date has now been given for the 2021 Honda Accord model. Buyers can expect to see it available by February 2021. Honda is not going to miss any deadlines with this one and we expect to see the model right on track and probably making much better sales numbers compared to the previous model.

How Much will 2021 Honda Accord Cost?

The car is going to be pricier compared to before and the 2021 Honda Accord will be more valuable than it is now. The current car has a base MSRP rate of 22,355 dollars but the newest model will be raised to around 24,000 dollars. The highest trim level will be offered for about 35,000 dollars in total.

Update: With the release date nearing, the prices for the 2021 Honda Accord have been confirmed. If you want to get your hands on the entry-level LX model, you will have to pay $22,450. The highest top range trim is the EX which will cost $30,990. There is also the hybrid model which will be offered for $35,950.

How will the Exterior Design Differ?

As seen from the offered pictures so far, the 2021 Honda Accord is going to adopt a very different look compared to now. They are going to use a different design language now which is going to be translated to all of the future Honda models. This one is getting sporty treatment and is going to get sleeker than it currently is. A sleeker profile merges with an arching roofline with merges pretty well with the sloping rear windows.

The front grille has a corporate design which is seen in the Pilot and the Ridgeline models while the cabin resembles that of a Civic model. The platform will be shared with the Honda Civic as well which is also scheduled to bring in a new kind of design with some expanded features. The platform is supposed to make both cars lighter on their feet and make the driving dynamics better.

Update: The newest 2021 Honda Accord will probably get the most out of the new lineup of German cars. It will be similar to other cars in the lineup but it will still have its own standalone features which will make it as distinctive as possible. The front end will be a bit unusual for that reason, but it will be unique compared to other Honda models that are coming out at the same time. The most distinctive part is the jewel-eyed headlights which are going to be connected all the way across the nose with a black gloss-trim but also with a very big mouth grille which is positioned much lower. The unusual part is that the front mouth is too open and it seems to most people that it needs to be covered with something. Nevertheless, it still updates the vehicle in a great way.

What is the New 2021 Honda Accord Interior Going to be Like?

The interior of the 2021 Honda Accord is also going to be based on some current models. In fact, the Honda Civic is a good car to base your interior on and it will truly bring everything that the car needs. The model is going to incorporate some great new looks with some modern equipment and gadgets. The new platform is also supposed to bring in more interior space and make it a lot more comfortable for the people inside.

When it comes to the tech department there are a lot of new features that are mentioned to be used. What the most important part is to help the people feel comfortable inside and that is going to be brought upon with some new infotainment specs. the gadgets are going to be updated and we can expect a lot from Honda’s own appliances to be added for the car.

Update: You already know that the 2021 Honda Accord is going to get a lot comfier, but we have also managed to learn that it will also get a lot useful. The latest news talks about the updated technology for the Accord. In fact, all the new Honda vehicles are going to come with the HondaLink system. This system will allow automatic looking and start options with the use of your smartphone. You can also connect your phone via the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems. Finally, the previous seven-inch display is going to be substituted with an eight-inch infotainment display. This also means that the Touring trims will gain a six-inch head-up display that offers customization options.

Powertrain Options

The latest 2021 Honda Accord is also going to come available in a few engine variants. The base offer is going to be a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which is going to make 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. But there is a higher and a stronger option as well, this actually means that the 3.5-liter version of a V-6 engine is going to be replaced with a 2.0-liter turbocharged offer. The output of the V-6 is currently measured at 278 horsepower and we are not too sure how well the substitute will fair. But we would rather like that they retain the current one. This change is not official still and we actually might end up with both in the end. But the hybrid engine which is supposed to make 212 horsepower has also been announced and is underway.

0-60 mph Acceleration Specs

The current acceleration rate is 8 seconds for the car but the 2021 Honda Accord might try to break that rate. If they incorporate some new features to the engine as they have announced we are looking at an engine with a better start. So we are expecting the 0-60 mph acceleration to drop under 8 seconds while the top speed is going to be at 120 mph.

2021 Honda Accord Fuel Economy

The model has not yet released is fuel economy rates, but the 2021 Honda Accord is certainly going to improve on those. Based on the fact that the car is going for an entirely new platform, much lighter than the one currently used, we are looking at some lower fuel consumption numbers. The current car is making 27 mpg city, 36 highway, 30 combined for its base version, which is supposedly going to drop for future models. Also, the Hybrid powertrain is aimed at making a 49 mpg EPA rating for city drives, making it one of the most fuel-consuming cars on the market.

The car is supposedly going to grow as the 2021 Honda Accord is announced to gain a few inches in length. Based on the type of platform that they are using for the car it is certainly going to be a few inches longer in size and perhaps wider. The car is planning to offer more interior spacing on the inside and will offer much more interior volume and a bit more in the cargo area as well.

Safety Ratings and Specs for the 2021 Honda Accord

Hone has always brought stellar safety for its cars and the 2021 Honda Accord is not going to be an exception. The current model already has a Top Safety Pick+ issued by the IIHS agency and the newest one is supposed to continue with the good use of its safety technology. The car is going to incorporate the Honda Sensing active safety technology in this car. This features forward collision warning, active lane-keeping, automatic braking, and adaptive cruise control. These are more than enough to keep you safe and the car will also be equipped with all the standard safety items like the appropriate number of airbags as well.

We are still off from the release of the 2021 Honda Accord, but the competition is stacked. The models that are going to run oppose this model are quite numerous and there are a lot of them to consider. Some of them are also getting their respective overhauls and the Accord is not going to remain to stand and take hold of the market unopposed. The closers rivaling cars include the Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima model and Subaru Legacy cars which are already established and well known in the market.
