We have recently come to learn that a 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid model is in the making. This project is actually much closer to fruition than one would might think. The idea came after the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid version which was welcomed with such success. The hybrid powertrain matted to this version of a Mitsubishi vehicle immediately made them look for different opportunities of doing the same. They came up with this type of idea which makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
But this is not the only thing which Mitsubishi plans as they have more ideas which are probably going to follow this one. If this version of the Pajero car gets to be as lucrative as one would think it is going to be, it will quickly spawn a number of vehicles. There is at least one of them already slanted in the making with more of the following soon.
As for the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid, there are still many things that have not been revealed. Since the information is new the data about it is pretty scarce. But according to some leaks, spy photos and certain emerging information we have enough to prepare a comprehensible review for you.
When is the Release date of the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid Expected?
Since the idea of a 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid is still pretty much fresh, there have not been many indications on when exactly will the model be made. We are probably looking at a release date which might be for the end of the year, at least in Japan, after that it is possible that the model gets to be released in other markets except for the home one.
What is the Price of the Car?
It is the same thing for the price as for the release date of the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid. But more information will become available once the release date is learned. For now, some estimations say that potential pricing is set at around 50,000 USD.
New Look for a New Pajero
This new 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid will adopt the new look for its latest incarnation. Actually, the model is going to be mainly based on the latest car which came out and will adopt a more contemporary appearance. You will not see the old-school boxy design with this one as they are changing to a much smoother design language which will grace more Mitsubishi products for the future. It will additionally make the cars instantly recognizable on the street as Mitsubishi cars. We have the GC-PHEV concept to thank for as they will base the model mainly to it. The ideas borrowed from the concept will make the Pajero a more contemporary version and it will coincide well with the hybrid powertrain.
Advanced Interior as Well
The story for the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid does not end only on the outside, they will continue with the futuristic design language for the inside of the vehicle as well. They are also going to look at the GC-PHEV concept for ideas and will incorporate this kind of design for the newest Pajero models. This means that the layout on the dash is changing and the door panels, as well as the dash, will come with soft-touch materials and chrome accents also. We are also looking at a choice between leather and cloth upholstery for the seats. On the tech side, a 9-inch touchscreen is going to be applied for the infotainment system while a 12-speaker sound system from Rockford will also be put into effect.
Under the Hood
The engine configuration is probably going to be the most interesting part of the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid. We were able to learn that the automobile will use a 3.0-Liter V6 gasoline engine and will combine with a battery pack that will have a 12kW. It is reportedly going to provide an output of 430 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque combined, but this is still an assumption as there were no confirmations made. The range is also expected to reach somewhere around 25 miles only by using a battery.
0-60 mph and Top Speed
Unfortunately, the stats for the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid are still not available. This model is kept secretive as much as possible but a hybrid powertrain will not allow for high performance in terms of speed and output. We can possibly expect it to speed up to 0-60 mph in around 8 or 9 seconds and that would be a perfect feat if achieved.
What can we Expect for the Fuel Economy
The same things go for the fuel economy y of the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid. Of course, the hybrid version of the Pajero car was built with a purpose to make the vehicle come less fuel and that is going to be the basis of this car. For now, Mitsubishi has not given us anything in terms of what the potential fuel economy might look like. It is certain that this will be one of the more fuel-efficient models in the segment that is for sure.
Are There any Changes in Terms of Size?
They are not going to change the dimensions of the 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid and they are keeping them the same as the base model. This is a hybrid version and there are no needs to change so much in terms of the size. We are only expecting to receive some shifts when it comes to the setup but the size and all of the dimensions of the vehicle areas within the current Mitsubishi Pajero model.
The newest 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid will reportedly have some pretty good safety ratings. The model will simply transfer them from the current version of the Pajero model. For now, we know that the airbags are a must and that they are going to add the usual type of safety equipment and make it available, but some advanced safety pieces are still not familiar to us. All in all, we are expecting them to make certain advancements which will make the car a bit safer to use.
The newest 2021 Mitsubishi Pajero Hybrid will have some other vehicles to think about as the hybrid segment is getting larger and larger. Other car manufacturers have already taken steps towards making their models better and fuel-efficient and the Mitsubishi is not the only one with this kind of idea. All in all, the Nissan Pathfinder and the Toyota Fortuner are also cars that are rumored to be adding a hybrid powertrain as well.
