2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Release Date, Specs and Price

2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe review

The test mule for the 2021 Porsche Cayenne coupe car has been spotted doing rounds recently. The pictures that we saw actually do not resemble anything that a Cayenne might look like, but after carefully analyzing the spy photos we were able to confirm that this in fact is the Cayenne model being offered for release soon.

The original Porsche Cayenne made it to America in its current second-generation incarnation in 2011 and was offered in GTS, Turbo S, and hybrid models. In 2015, we received an updated second-generation model that received a number of modifications for the outside and also a more powerful engine and new technology. This facelift is supposed to keep the car fresh until 2021 when we were expecting to see the new generation model come out. Well, this is the confirmation that we are sticking to the plan for now.

The current name for the car is still offered as the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe, but this is still subject to change as we still are not sure what we are getting because of the shorthanded information and not clear pictures. The release date will certainly be in 2021 but we do not know what major modifications they are going to incorporate. Based on the current information and the leaked date here is a review that will clear things up a little bit.

Release Date for the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe

As predicated for now, the release date for the 2021 Porsche Cayenne coupe will be given for 2021. Most likely based on the current info and the given stats and also by the looks of the prototype car on the pictures, we are looking at a release that will certainly be offered by the end of 2021 when the model is also going to be given for the American market.

Pricing for the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe

The 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe will probably get a price increase compared to the current price rates for the car. The current model costs $59,600 as a base MSRP, but the 2021 version will certainly rise to around $65,000, with the high trim level going to $70,000 even.

2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Exterior Modifications

The exterior design for the prototype of the 2021 Porsche Cayenne coupe has a lot of strange-looking details. This is not something that strange as most prototype vehicles start off as a complete mish-mash of other parts to form a new product. This is something that the body of the car looks like now as it adds parts from the Cayenne and the Panamera models all thrown in together. The roof, the rear, and the side panels are borrowed from the sedan model the front end of the car is browed from the Cayenne but with a larger bumper.

The side skirts are for now only plastic elements that have been attached to the sides while the rear bumper has an added element underneath it. We also notice that the wheelbase of the car is shorter compared to the Panamera model but it does have wider fenders. We can agree that most of the elements are going to borrow from the SUV model while the roofline is going to be similar to the Panamera one. We also expect to see a roof spoiler and an added trunk lid spoiler which will make the rear end of the car much more aggressive-looking.

2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Interior Changes

The interior of the 2021 Porsche Cayenne coupe will probably get a makeover. But we do not expect to see so many details changed and we are expecting to see an environment which is going to be kept similar to the current Cayenne model. The technological upgrades are greatly going to depend on whether the coupe comes before or after the redesign for the SUV.

Besides the usual upgrades and technological additions that the model will probably is going to get, we can also expect some fine materials inside. Expect some top-notch finishes and also some state of the art features which are going to be unique to the Cayenne car. Look for a bespoke infotainment display and instrument cluster, sports seats and a sporty steering wheel as standard pieces of equipment.

Powertrain Ability

The newest 2021 Porsche Cayenne coupe will probably transfer some of the engine options from the current lineup, but it remains to be seen if some of them might be updated. It appears that the base and the S versions are going to be using a V-6 rated at 300 and 410 horsepower units, while the Turbo and the Turbo S models will opt for a new and more powerful twin-turbo, 4.8-liter V-8 that will produce 510 and 560 horsepower. The diesel option which might get to be used here is the 4.1-liter V-6 which will make 380 horsepower while the hybrid version is a 3.0-liter V-6 and electric motor combo that makes 410 horsepower.

2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe 0-60 mph Acceleration Rates and Top Speed

Based on the estimated changes for the 2021 Porsche Cayenne coupe and its engine, we are looking at an acceleration of 6.5 seconds to reach 0-60 mph while the top speed is estimated at being 155 mph.

Fuel Economy for the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe

Making the 2021 Porsche Cayenne’s fuel economy better would be a tough thing to make. It will probably keep somewhere closer to the last one because it was a period when the car managed to receive an update EPA rating. The current model makes 19/24/21 mpg in its base form, 17/24/20 mpg for the S, 16/23/19 mpg for the GTS, and 14/21/17 mpg for the Turbo and Turbo S models. But the best one is the E-Hybrid which offers 21 mpg city, 24 highway and 47 MPGe combined.

2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe Dimensions

Because the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe is going to be a new generation model, the changes to the dimensions might apply. We have already noticed that the wheelbase of the car is a bit shorter than the last time, which also leads us to believe that there are some other elements that we are going to see changed. Until this is confirmed and the body lines established we will just continue to believe that the dimensions are certainly not going to be the same as last time.

Safety Settings

The crash settings for the future 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe are very much likely going to be very good. The current model has not been crash-tested yet so we are not able to transfer the rates. But we can say that the current model hosts a number of very good safety specs that can make the car a lot safer than it actually is. So expect that 2021 get anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and a full complement of airbags as a standard offer. Advanced pieces of equipment include adaptive cruise control with forwarding collision warnings, lane departure warnings, lane-keep assist, and dynamic lighting and we might be able to see them in the future model also.

Competition Models

The newest model that is the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe will already have some rivals in the segment which it will need to face. Some of the most important ones are the BMW X6 and the Mercedes Benz GLE-Class coupe car. Although the competition is a great and tight one it will be very hard for the new Porsche to get established here. Time will tell how well the new generation model will fair.
