The latest pictures of the 2021 Renault Kadjar have emerged. The Kadjar is a stylish crossover vehicle mainly based on the platform of a Nissan Qashqai model. Since the Qashqai model has changed its appearance and has been redesigned immensely back in 2014, it resulted in it being the undisputed ruler in the segment. So the Kadjar had to up its game as well and the result is the vehicle that we have before us. The 2021 Renault Kadjar may not have the appeal of a Seat Ateca but it is still a well-mannered car.
There are some pretty straightforward advantages that Kadjar brings to its users. Its blend of desirability and quality cannot be overlooked and practicality is also one of its biggest assets. Additionally, its low running costs make it a sure favorite when it comes to family vehicles.
Actually the initial release of the Renault Kadjar back in 2015 was meant with a lot of disclaiming at first, mainly due to the failure of the previous Koleos model. But the Kadjar proved to be very different than that which is mainly thanks to the partnership that was made between Renault and Nissan. Actually, the Qashqai and the Kadjar shared 60% of parts between each other, although Renault claims that it is much lower than that.
With the next 2021 version of the Renault Kadjar, we expect it to expand the same way as the Qashqai has expanded. The release date will be released soon so it was a perfect time to review this vehicle and analyze it a bit more in-depth.
When is the Release Date of the 2021 Renault Kadjar Scheduled for?
We imagine that the 2021 Renault Kadjar is going to be seen on the roads by the end of the year. We pit that the release date will be somewhere for the end of this year making it completely ready for sale and use in 2021.
What could the Price for the 2021 Renault Kadjar be?
As we look at things now, the price of the 2021 Renault Kadjar will expand a little bit compared to the outgoing version. The current model has a base MSRP of 19,270 Euros while the latest version will probably be a little bit above 20,000 Euros with the highest trim costing about 30,000 Euros.
An Exterior with a Character
One of the main advantages of the 2021 Renault Kadjar is that this car has more character than some of its rivals. Actually it is a much livelier version of the car that it is based on. It has a big and bold nose in the front and sports a massive Renault logo at the very front. Combine this with the swept-back headlights and we have a very striking appearance from your 2021 Kadjar crossover.
The car also adopts some curvaceous bodywork and has creases over the panels and it helps the car gain a very stylish stance, mainly thanks to its height. The tail lamps which are added also help continue the model theme which the car has. Also, the model comes with 17-inch alloy wheels as a standard offer but you can get 19-inch diamond-cut wheels that are going to help the car stand out even further.
Interior Design and Additions
The interior of the 2021 Renault Kadjar is pretty simple and down to earth. Apart from the digital instrument dials, which is the only part which seems as if it looks futuristic. The layout of the inside is the same as the Nissan Qashqai expect from the climate buttons which are rearranged and the air vents which work in the opposite direction. The quality is also at a very respectable level because it comes with soft-touch materials used for most of the interior but harder and more bristled plastic is used for the lower part of the inside. Generally speaking, although it mostly looks robust it fits together really well and it all comes down very nicely.
Powertrain Offers and Choices
There are still going to be three engine options for the newest 2021 Renault Kadjar. They are going to transfer the ones used from the last version and incorporate them here as well. The base version is a 1.2-liter TCe turbo petrol engine that is able to develop 128 horsepower with maximum pulling power from just 2,000rpm. Secondly, there are two diesel options offered for you in the Kadjar, the 1.5-liter dCi, making 109 horsepower and the 1.6-liter dCi which brings 128 horsepower.
Acceleration and Top Speed
The newest 2021 Renault Kadjar will have different 0-60 mph performance based on the type of engine incorporated. Thus the base version helps the car get to 0-60 mph in 10.1 seconds and also helps it attain a top speed of 119 mph. The 1.5-liter dCi diesel variant goes to 0-60 mph in 11.7 seconds while the second 1.6-liter dCi does it faster and gets to 60 mpg in 10.4 seconds.
Fuel Economy Characteristics
The newest 2021 Renault Kadjar has a very impressive fuel economy. It is one of its advantages and it will continue to be even with the 2021 version of the car. The most economical one is the 1.5 dCi diesel engine which brings us a combined 74.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km. The 1.6-liter diesel is pretty good as well and has measurements that say 65.7mpg and 113g/km of CO2, but with the CVT it goes to 62.8mpg and 117g/km and in all-wheel-drive 58.8mpg with 126g/km CO2. The base engine version is capable of making 126g/km CO2 and it is still acceptable in that form.
Not as similar to the Qashqai as you would expect
It is interesting that although the 2021 Renault Kadjar uses the same platform as the 2021 Nissan Qashqai, they do not share the dimensions. The Kadjar is a bit longer than the car it borrows the platform from and is essentially 4,449mm long and 1,836mm wide. But when you drive it, the car does not feel any bigger than the Nissan. It also manages to offer a decent spacing in the back seat but it is not anything that you might say special nor class-leading. But the boot is very practical and provides 472 liters of volume or 1,478 liters with the rear seats folded down.
The 2021 Renault Kadjar also shares some parts when it comes to safety with the Nissan Qashqai. But the Kadjar actually expanded on those and managed to get better scores when it comes to passenger safety. The Kadjar was tested in 2015 by Euro NCAP and it received a 5-star rating immediately, and we think that the stats will be transferred to this version as well. The vehicle will continue to offer lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition as standard while Autonomous emergency braking comes as optional.
Are There Any Rivaling Cars?
The 2021 Renault Kadjar will still be competing in the crossover segment and will have the same kind of competition. Although it is considered as one of the class-leading cars here, they still need to keep up with the times and provide updates to rival other models. Those cars which the 2021 Kadjar will face include the Peugeot 3008, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tuscon, but the current class favorite has to be the Seat Ateca.
