2021 Toyota Hilux Release Date, Price and Changes

2021 Toyota Hilux review

Fans of the rugged trucks will be happy to know that Toyota is updating its Hilux brand for the 2021 model year. The new 8th generation Hilux is scheduled to appear by the end of the year and there are many claims behind it and many talks that confirm the car getting a massive update. The car retains its rugged features and characteristics but gets an updated look and a fresh new design. The new exterior design of the 2021 Hilux is going to be more upscale and has a more cohesive exterior design. It is going to be done by adding some chrome accents here and there, LED lights and other fun stuff that can make the Hilux a contemporary vehicle. It does not take away any ruggedness from the car, so fans are not supposed to worry about changing the truck altogether. But a more refined look and a drastically changed cabin are going to happen.

The Hilux has been released for the first time in 1968 and the evolution of the car has been astounding and the confirmation of that are over 16 million models sold worldwide. This time we get to see an update under the hood as well which will include several powertrain options and a choice between gearboxes. The engines will actually differ base on the trim and the market the Hilux gets to be released in, but we are certain that you will not end up disappointed as they are trying to enhance the power of the car, which will affect its performance and towing capacity as well.

Exterior and Interior Changes and Improvement of 2021 Toyota Hilux Vehicle Model

The market is currently in need of cars that can serve double use, being a utility vehicle and a daily driver is much appreciated by a regular person who looks for a car. The Toyota Hilux aims to provide that as it remains a vehicle that is meant for high-riding and utility but can still provide momentum when it comes to taking a ride through town. The car will have a long wheelbase and short overhangs, making the approach and the departure angles much easier than before. The changes seen in the front of the car include a chore roll bar placed in the front part of the bed. But this only serves an aesthetic purpose and does not come with a useful function. If you want more aesthetics, you can opt for a big blocked Toyota sign which goes across the tailgate. Generally, the truck is much more modern looking and appealing, which complements this two-fold purpose that the car will have. It is rugged enough to serve any utility purpose but good looking to an extent that will make any city drive enjoyable.

As the exterior has improved the inside has taken three steps more than the outside. The inside of the Toyota Hilux has improved greatly and has been remodeled for the 2021 year. This is where all the necessary and needed changes have happened. The Inside sports a black color pattern which is very nice but does not make the inside look gloomy as the aluminum trim brightens up the place a bit while the stitching on the seats and the upholstery adds an overall appealing tone to it. The dashboard is related to the Corolla’s but does not look completely the same, more like a distant cousin. It has a horizontal shape and also includes a new steering wheel mated on it with some new controls and gauges added to it which have been toned down in order not to clutter the place and making driving impossible.

When you look at it you might mistake it for a tablet PC actually if we count out the CD/DVD slot that is, and right below the main screen, you will find the HVAC controls placed. This has all been neatly laid out and is easy to reach and use. Simplicity and usefulness for driving is what the car offers it does not make the drive complicated and provides you with easy access to all of the controls of switches of the car.

This year you will be granted the use of no less than four engine options for the new Hilux truck. The first one is the 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine option that can make a total of 174 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, but if you want a smaller diesel engine, then there is the 2.4-liter turbodiesel one that makes 160 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The gasoline engine options, on the other hand, include a 2.7-liter four-cylinder that can make 164 horsepower or the 4.0-liter V-6 with the output of 278 horsepower. Of course, a drivetrain cannot be complete without a good gearbox to go with it. This time we have standard transmission is a six-speed manual transmission t which comes with truck-based rev-matching technology. The second option that comes available is the six-speed automatic transmission. The combinations of the current powertrain setup for the 2021 Toyota Hilux car can provide a better fuel economy, a larger driving range, and reduced engine noise.
